The arrow is probably the oldest and most basic of graphic symbols. It is universal in it’s simple command, “Go this way,” - the primary metaphor of direction that we use everyday to navigate through our physical and virtual worlds.

Japanese artist Motoi Yamamoto has gone to a new heights; he’s started making his art installations entirely out of salt.

Yamamoto took to this passion after his sister died two years after being diagnosed with brain cancer.

After each installation is complete, he asks that the salt be returned back to the ocean.
